North East exporters going global

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: Export Week, North East

Export Week has been fantastic in the North East once again. We’ve had hundreds of companies taking part in events, lots of input from experts and many business deals progressed this week.

Thank you to all the business community and those people who gave their time in supporting the cause of North exports!

There are many people and businesses I’d like to mention – from Tharsus, the Institute of Directors, Recognition PR, Newcastle Racecourse, Redworth Hall to the Women into the Network (WIN) organisation, Fentimans UK, Poppy Ltd, Hire Torque Ltd, Johnson Partners, Newcastle Airport, Prima Cheese, Canford Audio, Palintest, Hart Doors,  etc, etc and I could go on and on!

We were lucky also to have ExploreExport in town, with 70 commercial officers offering one-to-one advice to companies, and a visit from the FCO Permanent Secretary Sir Simon Fraser. It was great to see him here in Newcastle; he met with many key clients and also many of the commercial officers visiting. Last week he was in Manila and he was delighted to reconnect with the Manila team here in Newcastle – only ExploreExport can offer that opportunity!

Finally a mention for UKTI’s service: “Business Opportunities” - do make sure you sign up for this service on the website. You can get live feeds of business opportunities direct from our commercial officers around the world. It’s free to sign up to and your international trade adviser (ITA) can help you do this.

I’m delighted so many companies joined us during Export Week. But just because it’s now finished, it doesn’t mean you should stop thinking about exports and growing your business. International trade should be an integral part of any company’s growth plans and UKTI is here to help.
