I came across a short online report recently by SERI  (the Samsung Economic Research  Institute, one of South Korea's most respected research centres). There are a few  interesting predictions on economic growth here - and some pointers for  British exporters - I'd like to share with you.  SERI predicts four big trends in Korea for 2011:

Smart Platform Prosumers - The first trend that businesses can profit from in 2011  will be the rise to dominance of "smart" devices

Social Media Consumers - Korea's voracious appetite for social media continues.

Slow Living - More Koreans in the coming year are expected to prioritize values of  happiness, health, and sustainability in their personal lives, for example by taking  more interest in nutrition and wellbeing

Sellsumers - the fourth trend among Korean consumers in 2011 will be the rise of  online "sellsumers." This portmanteau of "seller" and "consumer" refers to the  blurring boundaries between buyer and seller as the business environment transitions  from an industrial to an information society
