When we began planning the UK’s participation in Milan Expo one objective was always clear.
As well as using the UK Pavilion as a platform to showcase our nation’s capabilities to millions of international visitors, we also wanted to demonstrate that the UK is welcoming, diverse and open for business.
To achieve that goal, it was imperative that British business owners and international investors were able to come with us on this journey and benefit from it.
One of the ways in which UKTI has facilitated this is by working in close partnership with other government departments and UK business to host a series of GREAT Weeks in Milan. In my last blog, I reflected on the success of the first GREAT Week and the type of business wins achieved for companies who attended.
But rather than hear it from me, please see the video below with a summary of what UK participation in Milan Expo is all about and how UK companies are reaping the benefits. British entrepreneurs such as Paul Lindley (Ella’s Kitchen), Allesandro Asscani (Emily Fruit Crisps) and Lord Karan Bilimoria (Cobra Beer) all share how joining a GREAT Week and receiving support from UKTI has helped their business.
Our ambition for UK participation in Milan Expo 2015 is to deliver a £1 billion return on investment for the UK economy. And the way that we are doing that is through the Grown in Britain Global Business Programme, which includes business events in the UK, in Milan and across the world. Find out more and join us here.
